Week 19, 2026 – Piling underway

8 May 2026

From the Pablo Picassostraat side, you can see the real work has started. The big red rig is a CFA (continuous flight auger) drilling rig from Kuipers Funderingstechnieken — it bores a hole, then concrete is pumped down through the auger as it’s pulled out, and a rebar cage is lowered into the wet concrete. You can see one of those cages staged in the foreground.

Concrete mixer truck, Kuipers excavator and rebar cages staged on site

The wider scene shows the supporting kit: a W. Kool concrete mixer truck feeding the auger, a Kuipers crawler excavator, the yellow Kwakkenbos site office in the back, and crews in orange hi-viz coordinating between them. More rebar cages stacked up ready for the next bores.

More photos from the same morning: a closer look at the rig in action with a crew member guiding the auger, and a wider view of the full site — mixer, excavator and stacks of rebar cages all running at once.
